The Austin Bone and Joint Clinic is celebrating 56 years of orthopedic service to Austin and Central Texas. The orthopedic surgeons, D. Greenway, MD; Christopher Chenault, MD; Earl J. Kilbride, MD; C. Bruce Malone III, MD; Stephen M. Pearce, MD; and J.C. Pearce, MD, are not only certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, but also have an accumulated 152 years of experience.
We take our tradition of providing state-of-the-art orthopedic medical and surgical treatment quite seriously. It is always nice to see our patients from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, return to us for additional treatment.
The orthopedists provide a broad range of services in the practice of general orthopedic surgery. This is strengthened by special interests in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and hand and shoulder surgery (including arthroscopy and replacement). We are specifically interested in foot surgeries, including bunion surgery. Back surgery and surgery for arthritis, which involves joint replacement, is a major interest. We provide not only emergency care in our office, but also trauma care in Austin emergency rooms. The doctors participate in continuing medical education courses on a regular basis.
33 years ago, we performed the first total joint replacements in Austin, shortly after they were introduced as a procedure in this country. Joint replacements and surgery for rheumatoid hand disease have been performed since the late 60s.
