The Austin Independent School District requires all students participating in competitive sports to have yearly athletic physical exams. The TCMS Public Relations committee is now soliciting volunteers to help with the 2011 athletic physicals for AISD students who have financial restrictions and other barriers to health care.

Emilie Becker, MD is undergoing extensive treatment for metastatic rectal cancer discovered during a routine screening colonoscopy. Join Austin Physicians for Social Responsibility for a spring legislative update at the home of US Congressman Lloyd Doggett and Dr. Libby Doggett, on Saturday, April 9, from 4 to 6 pm. Representative Doggett will give an update on environmental and health legislative issues at the national level. A state representative from the Austin area has been invited to give an update as well.
