Internal Controls for Embezzlement Prevention
Tuesday, August 19
Dinner: 6:00 pm • Program: 6:30 pm
Cedar Park Regional Medical Center - 1401 Medical Parkway, Cedar Park
Mark Steiger, BA, CMM, a practice management consultant with Texas Medical Association, will present Internal Controls for Embezzlement Prevention. Medical practices are largely cash businesses and have the highest embezzlement rate of any service industry. Every medical practice, regardless of size, specialty or location, is a potential victim of employee theft and
embezzlement. If your practice lacks a system of internal controls, you could be a target for employee theft. You can protect your practice by establishing a formalized system of controls for monitoring money, including cash on hand.
