The Travis County Medical Society Retired Physicians' Organization (RPO) was organized
in 1990 for all retired physicians and those approaching retirement
in order to renew and maintain contact with professional colleagues,
hear presentations on topics of interest, and provide social activities.
These monthly meetings include speakers such as Jaqueline Dudley,
PhD, UT Professor of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, Humboldt
Mandel, PhD, Senior Executive with NASA, David Lambret, PhD, Director
McDonald Observatory and William Livingston, PhD, Senior Vice President
UT who spoke on the Politics and Wit of Winston Churchill.
Meetings are held at Tarrytown Methodist Church at 2601 Exposition. The group meets on the third Tuesday of each month from 11:30
to 1:30 pm with a catered lunch. Lunch is $10.00.
The RPO also visits local museums, takes day trips and has one
or two social events each year.
Retired physicians, or those who are contemplating retirement,
spouses, and widows are invited to join the RPO in all their activities.
