Project Access is a highly visible example of physician leadership in action with 1,000 area physicians providing volunteer services. Since commencing operations in early 2003, Project Access has enrolled over 3,927 patients and provided over 24,000 patient encounters, resulting in over $24.4 million in donated care.
The Project Access staff assigns patients to a medical home, then coordinates and tracks referrals to specialists. The staff manages the referral process so the physicians will not be assigned more patients than their commitment pledge, thus effectively removing the issue of disproportional referrals as a barrier to physicians' good faith participation.
We can build on the program's success and provide services to even more of the uninsured individuals in our community with your help. We urge you to thoughtfully consider participating in Project Access along side of so many of your colleagues.
To volunteer your services, complete the enrollment form below and fax it to Kathy Gichangah at 206-1135 or mail to 4300 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78756.
