Leadership
TCMS is made up of physician committees. Physicians volunteer their time to determine the priorities and actions of the society. The full-time TCMS staff works to implement the goals of the committees, keep the membership informed, and coordinate both social and educational events.
TCMS Committees:
1. Executive Board
2. Board of Ethics (seven members elected by the society to serve 3 year terms)
3. Medical Legislation (appointed by the president to serve 1 year term)
4. ED/EMS Advisory Board (?)
5. Physician Health and Rehabilitation (appointed by the president to serve 1 year term)
6. Public Relations (appointed by the president to serve 1 year term)
7. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (appointed by the president to serve 1 year term)
8. Constitution and Bylaws (?) (appointed by the president to serve 1 year term)
Committee members are appointed by the TCMS president.
TCMS Executive Board consists of: President, President Elect, Secretary/Treasurer, Immediate Past President, Chair of the Board of Ethics, Delegate to the TMA, Members at Large (6 members).
TCMS Delegation: This group of physicians is composed of delegates and alternate delegates representing TCMS and the needs of the profession in the TMA House of Delegates.
Committee members are appointed by the president. Standing committees include Medical Legislation; Public Relations; and Physician Health and Rehabilitation Constitution and Bylaws. Annual committee members are appointed for terms of one year and may be reappointed to additional terms at the discretion of the president.

Through donation drives, fundraisers and working with the state of Texas, TCMS was able to distribute 4 million masks as well as gloves, gowns, sanitizer and more to the physicians of Central Texas.
2022: TCMS forms a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee to foster education, awareness, and actionable information for members interested in ensuring health equity for their patients and incorporating DEI in the health care workforce.
